Overnight Accommodations Located five nautical miles from the Long Island Sound breakwater, Essex Harbor is sheltered and protected. Essex Island Marina is situated on the west side of the Connecticut River just 100’ from mainland Essex, Connecticut. We have about 125 slips, with approximately 60 available for transient Guests. Slips are located adjacent to the river on the east side of the island, and along North Cove on the west side of the island. Everyone has a favorite spot – be sure to notify us of yours when making your reservation. Our floating slips range in size from 30’ to 50’, with a minimum of 15’ width at each slip. At mean low water, the depths in the slips range from 5’-9’. Dockside accommodations consist of tying up to pilings alongside a stationary dock. We have 2.5’-3’ tidal range. (July 4th Weekend, July 4 & 5, 2008 and Labor Day Weekend, August 30 & 31, 2008 – a two night minimum reservation with a pre-paid deposit is required.) WITHOUT A DEPOSIT: reservations will only be held until 2:00 P.M. and on a space available basis. Cancellation Policy: 1. All reservations, except those without a deposit, are held for the entire reserved period. Cancellation may be affected any time up to and including the planned day of arrival: A. Cancellations made three days or more prior to the date of arrival will entitle the Guest to a refund OR credit for the 2008 season. B. Cancellations made less than three days prior to the arrival date will entitle the Guest to a credit toward a future stay for the 2008 season. 2. If no cancellation is made it must be assumed that the slip is to be held for arrival and is therefore rented to the reserving yacht.
